Crochet: Tote Bag for Myself

Okay, I did mention in one of my previous posts that I'm going to post about crocheted bags I'm currently making. Well, I changed my mind, I'm going to post about the bags only when they are finished.

So, here's my new crocheted bag:

My Crochet Tote Bag

The color turned out to be blue in this picture, but the actual color is more close to this:

I found a crocheted sunflower that I like [Sunflower Hot Pad], but I couldn't seem to get the sunflower right because I wanted to crochet a smaller sunflower but with longer petals, and I ended up not to exactly follow the pattern, I twisted it and I got the sunflower as shown in the picture... Haha...

As for the leaves, I'm sure you can get tons of tutorial of them on the web. :)

I used Donna's cute [Bumble Bee Applique] to add to the cuteness of the decorations.

I used a fabric I once bought to line my cross-stitch bag. Yeah, I once loved cross-stitching, but not so much anymore. I'm planning to finish the bag, but it was abandoned for about a year, and I don't know if I have the mood to finish it... Let's hope that I will finish the bag so you guys can see it. :)

As for the lining, I don't know what type of fabric it is. It is kind of like a canvas but softer. I hand-sewn the lining and used the same yarn used for the upper part of the bag to sew the lining to the bag, because I want the bag to be sturdy enough and last for a long time.

The zipper is Daiso's long zipper with three heart-shaped sliders. I used one of three of it:

The Zipper

Alright, next bag project, backpack! Wonder what it will look like?  >v<

In my next post, I will write about my near-seven-years fandom, want to know more?

Stay tuned~

Crochet: Tote Bag for My Mom

When my mother knew that I can crochet, she asked me to crochet a tote bag. She wanted a maroon-colored bag. Here's the finished bag:

Maroon Tote Bag
I took about a month because I crocheted the bag slowly... Didn't want to put pressure into my head that was already full of other more important stuffs at that time...
Crochet stitch in maroon yarn is from Crochet Stitches Visual Encyclopedia by Robyn Chacula. I don't remember its name...

The bag is lined with velvet fabric, with the water-proof side facing outside. The lining and the zipper is hand-sewn.

I want a sewing machine...

Oh, and that flower is really random. I crocheted the flower using two strands of yarn to make it bulky. I forgot where I got the pattern, I thought that I bookmarked the page... Oh, well... I'll put the link once I found the page...

My mom is happy when she received the bag.

Crochet: Strawberry Cellphone Charm

I had crocheted the body of the strawberry and the leaves.

I also had stuffed the fiber fill into the body, and then I kept the unfinished strawberry in sewing threads storage box (Yeah, I really did).

I had abandoned the unfinished strawberry for quite a long time, and yesterday I decided to finish making the charm.

And this is the result:

Crocheted Strawberry Cellphone Charm

It's cute, isn't it?

My very first crocheted strawberry cellphone charm ever.

I'm so happy... and I've attached the charm to my cellphone...

Although I sewed the leaves in a weird position... I just realized about that when I looked at the photo of the charm I had taken... Oh, well...

Anyway, I learned how to crochet the strawberry through this free pattern [Crocheted Summer Strawberry].

The original strawberry is quite big for a cellphone charm, so I decreased the number of stitches to make the strawberry be in small size.

For the leaves and the tiny flowers, I used the pattern found in a crochet book; [Pelbagai Ragam Mengait]. I'm sure you can find the flower pattern in the Internet, it's a basic flower pattern. It's just that I learned to make those flowers using the instruction in the book...

The book has so many beautiful crochet accessories photos. I feel like crocheting all of them! Well, someday...
